About the Role: Mythos Veterinary LLC, a non-corporate anesthesia consultancy, was founded when I finally, serendipitously, understood that outstanding anesthesia can be provided to any animal, anywhere, without moral compromise. The crux of this offering lies in the ability to educate others in the art of anesthesia. If this resonates, keep reading.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide remote anesthesia consultation and monitoring for veterinary surgical and diagnostic procedures
  • Develop and oversee individualized anesthetic protocols for small animal patients
  • Collaborate with on-site veterinary teams to ensure patient safety before, during, and after anesthesia
  • Assess patient risk factors and recommend pre-anesthetic diagnostics and treatments
  • Guide and support on-site staff through anesthetic induction, maintenance, and recovery
  • Document anesthesia records, case notes, and post-procedure reports accurately
  • Respond to anesthetic emergencies and provide real-time guidance to clinical teams
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive remote anesthesia session, respectful of every one’s experience
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in veterinary anesthesiology (DACVAA preferred), with 3 years experience as a veterinary anesthesiologist
  • Active and unrestricted veterinary license in good standing in the United States
  • Proficiency with video platforms (i.e. Zoom) and remote communication tools
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both in writing and orally. Ability to speak to pet owners is essential
  • Highly organized and a self-starter. Remote anesthesia cases require advanced protocol creation
  • Consistent and reliable internet (hard wiring recommended)
  • Comfort signing a non-disclosure agreement about sensitive business work flow and a memorandum of understanding not to personally recruit clients that Mythos Veterinary LLC works with

Pay:
Paid per case, dependent on experience. Case load varies by month from one to six cases, but is heavily dependent candidate's availability.
